About this tool
Generate passwords using your browser’s cryptographic random source. Choose the length and character groups; each password includes at least one character from every enabled group, and generated values are returned only in this page.

Questions, answered
What makes the random source different from a simple random number?
This generator uses Web Crypto getRandomValues and rejection sampling for character selections. It does not use Math.random to create passwords.
Which lookalike characters are excluded?
When enabled, the generator excludes uppercase I and O, lowercase l and o, and digits 1 and 0. Every enabled group still contributes at least one character.
