Word DOCX text to PDF

Reflow Latin-script Word body text into a simple PDF, without original formatting.

Text-only reflow, not a faithful Word-to-PDF conversion. Uses a Latin-script font; Urdu, Arabic, Cyrillic, emoji and other unsupported characters are rejected.

A LITTLE KNOW-HOW

About this tool

Create a simple printable PDF from the main text of a .docx document. Text is reflowed onto A4 pages using Helvetica, so the source document’s images, typography, table layout, headers and page breaks are not preserved. This release rejects text the standard font cannot encode instead of silently replacing characters.

How to use it

  1. 1

Choose a .docx file containing Latin-script body text.

  2. 2

    Create the simple text PDF.

  3. 3

Download and review it; keep the original for its formatting and images.

Questions, answered

Is this the same as Word’s Export to PDF?

No. Word’s export can preserve the original document layout. This tool extracts and reflows body text only; it is unsuitable when visual fidelity is required.

Why are some languages rejected?

The standard PDF font in this release supports Latin-script text and common Western symbols. Use DOCX-to-text or DOCX-to-HTML to keep other Unicode scripts, or export to PDF from an editor with the needed fonts.

Does a successful conversion guarantee that all Word content is present?

No. Review the PDF against the original. Only supported main-body text is in scope; images, headers, footers, footnotes, comments and formatting are not a faithful part of the output.

When text reflow is a good fit

Use this for a readable copy of a simple English-language draft when its words matter more than its design. Main-body paragraphs and table text are extracted, then laid out again on A4 pages. Page count can change because Word font sizes, margins and manual page breaks do not determine the new PDF layout.

When to export from Word instead

For a CV, invoice, contract, branded letterhead or document with signatures, charts or images, export to PDF from the original editor and check the result there. This tool does not reconstruct those elements. If the input contains an unsupported script, it stops with an error; use the Unicode text extraction tools to recover the words without making a PDF.
